19 September 2013: Romanian Naval Authority organises its 2nd informative workshop involving stakeholders

Within the scope of the activities of the European project TEN ECOPORT, a second Round Table will be held inConstanta, at the headquarters of the Romanian Naval Authority, on September 19th, 2013 with the participation of representatives from different local interested parties involved in the maritime and port environmental protection.
 
This is a follow-up meeting of the 1st Informative Round table for Increasing Environmental Protection Capacity in SEE ports, held in Constanta, on June 19th, having as goals to determine the percentage each stakeholder has fulfilled its planned tasks and decisions assumed at the end of the first meeting, as well as to establish the most important findings and lessons learnt.
 
Both round table meetings are aimed at creating a local network of port stakeholders and representatives of port operators, local authority, etc. for establishing the best practices for increasing environmental protection capacity of the port.
 
The main topics of discussion are:
·         Increasing availability for the services and facilities for all new sorts of categories of waste stated into revised MARPOL 73/78 – Annex V
·         Finding the best solutions for the “Waste Notification” system communication, and also a better quality of the control system, and
·         Surveillance and monitoring of port aquatorium in order to prevent pollution and maintaining the water quality.
 
The works of the Round table will be chaired by the Romanian Naval Authority.
